| Changes from 2006-07 Campus Profile |
As part of the ongoing strategic planning process, colleges were asked to outline their unique goals and identify metrics to show progress towards those goals. Management Information built a data entry interface so that the colleges could enter the values of their metrics. These metrics, organized by goal and identified by having two letters in the row number, are now an option available from the front page of the Campus Profile System. Colleges were also given an opportunity to supply a glossary definition for each of their strategic metrics; these definitions can be found by clicking on the item number just as with standard Profile items. In addition, a new grouping of all strategic indicators, campus-wide and college-specific, can be selected when specifying a custom report. We have eliminated the options of choosing "budget indicators" or "key indicators" from the custom drop-down list.
Colleges were given the option of loading their metrics by department; only one college (FAA) elected to do so. As a result, most of the new college indicators will be available only on the college total pages. Two department-level units in the the VC for Research portfolio (the Institute for Genomic Biology and the National Center for Supercomputing Applications) have their own strategic goals and metrics, as does the Division of Public Safety in the Chancellor's office.
As a result of the strategic planning process, a large number of additional metrics were identified as critical for the campus as a whole. Where data were available at the college or department level, these were added to the Campus Profile dataset. There are 65 new items, bringing the total number of items in the Campus Profile to 443.

Data alert: As of the date of publication, many colleges had not completed the data collection for the college-specific metrics. We will keep the data entry system open for a few more weeks to permit the colleges to complete their data entry. As a result, users may find that the college-level metrics may change over the next few weeks.
Drilldowns for student enrollment, degrees, ACT/HSPR scores were modified so that sensitive data for any program with fewer than 3 students will not be listed. The numbers for such programs are still included in the totals.
