CAMPUS PROFILE Proposed Items
for Next Version
November 2002
While we have added some new items to the Campus
Profile this year (most notably headcounts by women),
there are still items that we would like
to include that are not yet available on the administrative
computer system. Below are the items next on our list. We welcome
your suggestions for other items that might be of general
interest.
GMAT, VAT, and LSAT scores for incoming students
These scores are not stored in the Graduate Student Admissions
system but reside in college-level systems. We would like to
publish these scores for the units requiring them for admission.
Budget Allocation under Budget Reform
We would like to split the state & ICR budget for a unit into its
components under Budget Reform -- amounts earned from various sources, the
portion of the budget that is campus allocation, and the overhead charges for
administrative units. When these figures are ready, we will publish them.
Note that much of the data used to calculate the "earned" portion of a college's budget is in the Campus Profile; in particular, all the tuition and IU data by term should allow users to replicate those calculations. The calculations of administrative overheads are complex, and the details can be obtained from Business Affair's web site
Discovery and Composition 2 Sections
These are two more types of sections which we consider
"Special Effort Sections", like the honors sections in
line 666. Unfortunately, they cannot be detected in the system at
this time. When special flags are added to the Timetable to
distinguish these sections, we will begin counting them. We also
are beginning to look at ways to quantify some of the new modes of
instruction such as distance or asynchronous learning.
